A Taxonomy of Replay Attacks

نویسنده

چکیده

This paper presents a taxonomy of replay attacks on cryptographic protocols in terms of message origin and destination. The taxonomy is independent of any method used to analyze or prevent such attacks. It is also complete in the sense that any replay attack is composed entirely of elements classi ed by the taxonomy. The classi cation of attacks is illustrated using both new and previously known attacks on protocols. The taxonomy is also used to discuss the appropriateness of particular countermeasures and protocol analysis methods to particular kinds of replays.

Interference Mitigation of Replay Attacks in GPS Receiver using of Finite Impulse Response Filter

The vulnerability of civil GPS receiver to interference may be intentional or unintentional. Among all types of interference, replay attack intended as the most dangerous intentional one. The signal structure of replay attack is almost the same with the satellite signal. The interference effects can be reduce with the design of an appropriate filter in the receiver. This paper presents two meth...

Categorizing Attacks on Cryptographic Protocols Based on Intruders' Objectives and Roles

A taxonomy of cryptographic protocol attacks is helpful for cryptographic protocol analysis. There are taxonomies of cryptographic protocol awss5, 9] and a taxonomy of replay attacks in terms of message origin and destinationn25]. This paper presents an attack taxonomy based on an intruder's objectives when launching attacks and the roles s/he plays. Understanding an intruder's possible behavio...

A Taxonomy of Distributed Debuggers Based on Execution Replay

This paper presents a taxonomy of parallel and distributed debug-gers based on execution replay. Programming of distributed and parallel systems is a complex task. Amongst the many factors contributing to this complexity, the nondeterminacy of these systems is an important one. Execution replay is a technique developed to facilitate the debugging of nondeterministic programs. Execution replay h...
